Literature Text

I'm expecting others to be like me
To love friends as if they're family
I'd do anything for those I care for
But there aren't as many as before
And so I look for more and more

Until I feel I'll die if I'm hurt again
By those I'd dared to call my friend
Perhaps all of this has just become
Like chasing down a midnight sun
One night I was lying awake thinking about how fickle people are, and how rare it is to find a true friend. Even some of your best friends can waver, and their opinion of you seems to wax and wane. Finding anyone who can care at the depth that I can is like, well, finding a midnight sun. And that's how the analogy came to me. I thought it was a cool metaphor and would make a cool poem. So this is it. Tell me what you think!

Heh, I can't really say much. My opinion of people changes by the minute.

I'm very fickle. And I get disillusioned quickly.
